AI news: we attended the first edition of the CzechCrunch Future event

On Tuesday 21 April, Prague’s Výstaviště exhibition centre in Holešovice was transformed into a hub of technological innovation. This was the venue for the inaugural edition of the Future event, organised by CzechCrunch – one of the most influential Czech websites, which has long been covering the world of business, start-ups and modern technologies, including AI. As artificial intelligence and automation are part of our daily work here at TRITON IT, David Trojan, who specialises in analytics and AI automation, and Antonín Pulkrab, our account manager and video content coordinator, headed to Holešovice.

From theory to real-world AI agents

The programme was packed with short, punchy talks (20–30 minutes) that got straight to the heart of the matter, with a focus on the real-life experiences of people who are already integrating AI into the very fabric of their businesses.

One of the highlights was Dušan Šenkypl’s talk on ‘How to build an AI chief of staff and run a global company with them’. Dušan presented a fascinating insight into how he and his team built a network of AI agents to help manage business processes. For us, this was a great validation, as we are also implementing similar projects (albeit on a smaller scale). Whether it’s our virtual colleague Sockařka Maruna, or advanced systems for automating content creation, which save our clients up to dozens of hours of work each month.

Health, business and effective model training

Renowned surgeon and innovator Tomáš Šebek offered a different perspective. His presentation on longevity and technological possibilities in healthcare clearly outlined the limits of technology in this field. We learnt which technologies can realistically extend our lives and which are, for the time being, little more than marketing promises.

Jaroslav Beck (known, among other things, for the success of the game Beat Saber and his work in the drinks industry) spoke about how AI is making inroads into more traditional sectors. Together with David Herl and Tomáš Mikolov, he is developing the BottleCap AI project, which aims to streamline the training of AI models.

AI in practice

The exhibition area was just as lively as the stage. We were particularly impressed by Alza’s stand, featuring their humanoid robots, and by the presentation of Ecomail – a tool we’ve been using for several years to manage our clients’ email campaigns.

The afternoon was devoted to workshops. Whilst some participants refined their prompts for LLMs (language models), others got involved in creating AI videos or tackled the pressing issue of legislation and ethics, which is absolutely crucial for the responsible use of AI in businesses.

For us, taking part in events such as CzechCrunch Future is about keeping pace with the best in the field and applying what we learn directly to our work. We’ve also made some very interesting contacts and are already looking forward to welcoming some of these innovators onto our Czech Tech Talks podcast.
