How did we automate payments to a client who was rejected by payment gateways?
Our long-standing client operates in an industry that various institutions classify as risky. Not because it is an illegal activity - banks and payment service providers have strict policies in certain areas, however, as they often have claims for payments. For this reason, when setting up a new e-shop, our client was refused a traditional payment gateway by all available authorities. This presented us with a major challenge - how to enable customers to pay for her services quickly and securely?
After analyzing the situation and the available options, we came up with a simple solution that would eliminate the need for a standard payment gateway and at the same time enable automated processing of transactions in real time. Since banks today already process transfers between accounts very quickly, we decided to create a custom plugin that generates QR codes for payments.
A key element of this solution was to ensure that no human verification of payment receipt was required. This meant tapping into the bank's API, which allows real-time checking to see if the payment has actually been credited to the client's account. Our plugin automatically checks the account status and if it detects that the payment has arrived via QR code, it switches the order status to "paid" mode. This process is instantaneous, which means that the customer gets the service they ordered immediately after a successful transaction.
Our plugin is fundamentally different from commonly available solutions, which, although they allow the generation of QR codes for payments, do not include an automated mechanism for checking the crediting of the payment and subsequent change of the order status. Thanks to this minor innovation, the client gained a reliable payment system that fully meets the specifics of her business and allows for smooth and secure operation of her e-shop.
Our solution proves that even in industries that are considered risky, an efficient and functional way to ensure a smooth payment process can be found. Thanks to it, our client can fully concentrate on her business without having to worry about complications with receiving payments.
